Sometimes, when my gear is set up, I might just drag myself over to it if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep. Then I can noodle away until I feel like settling myself down. Sometimes I don't even really remember doing that the morning after — but because of my habit of turning the recorder on, a little while back I found a folder simply labelled "nighttime thoughts", so that was the starting point for this album. A couple of the titles here come from deep-dig wikipedia rabbit holes — another frequently half-forgotten late-night occupation.
